Lets talk a little about Navajo Rugs. There are many different styles of rugs that are woven by the Navajo. We specialize in old Navajo rugs and blankets and have many in stock. What I have pictured is a Yeibechai weaving. The Yei are religious figures, Spirit Beings, or the Navajo Holly People. There are no religious signigicance to these figures when woven. The Yeibechai are dancers, that portray the Yei or Spirit Beings. The figures are always standing sideways, the Yei when woven will always face forward. These rugs were first woven around the World War I period and were taken from sandpaintings. Yeibechai rugs will make a great colorful statement in any room, and may be placed on a wall or on the floor. Whether they are large or small ones! This small rug is 24 3/4" long X 18 1/2" high. Price is $350.00
