If you collect dolls or folk art, this is for you! This is a very charming piece of folk art by our local people, the Tohono O'Odham or People of the Desert. The doll is of a woman caring a Khia or burden basket (work basket). It was not uncommon for the women to walk from the San Xavier Mission area to down town caring a khia full of heavy hand made pots to sell. The khia are very rare items, there are not many in existence today. Stop in at the Gallery and let us show you a real one from the mid to late 1800's. The doll was made by Chepa Franco and sells for $350.00
